GreenIT and Galileo Reach Agreement for Eight Solar PV Projects in Italy

Italian renewable energy joint venture GreenIT, co-founded by Plenitude (Eni, 51%) and CDP Equity (CDP Group, 49%), has entered into an agreement with the pan-European renewable energy platform, Galileo. The collaboration aims to realize eight photovoltaic projects, with a total capacity of approximately 140 MW, across Southern, Central, and Northern Italy. Once operational, these projects are expected to cover the electricity consumption of over ninety thousand households, contributing to Italy’s 2030 National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan targets.

The operational phase of the plants is scheduled within the 2023-2027 Industrial Plan approved by GreenIT in April 2023. The plan outlines total investments of EUR 1.7 billion, with the goal of reaching an installed capacity of 1,000 MW. GreenIT’s strategy includes the development of greenfield plants, construction of authorized projects, repowering of operational plants, and offshore wind project development.

Paolo Bellucci, CEO of GreenIT, expressed excitement about the agreement with Galileo, emphasizing its alignment with the company’s mission to develop, build, and operate renewable energy plants in Italy.
