SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a subsidiary of SJVN Limited, has entered into a contract agreement with Solar World Energy Solutions Private Limited, Noida, for the Balance of System (BoS) of a substantial 360 MW Solar Power Project. The agreement encompasses the operation and maintenance of the Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Plant for a duration of three years. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of key officials, including SJVN’s Director (Finance) Akhileshwar Singh, SGEL’s CEO Ajay Singh, and representatives from both SGEL and Solar World Energy Solutions.
The 360 MW Solar Power Project, spearheaded by SJVN through SGEL, is slated for development in Bhuj, District Kutch, Gujarat. Acquired through a competitive bidding process facilitated by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), the project operates on a build-own-operate basis. A 25-year Power Purchase Agreement has been formalized between SGEL and GUVNL, ensuring the project’s sustained operation.
Forecasts for the project indicate an initial annual generation of 901.87 million units, with a cumulative energy production estimated at approximately 21,244 million units over the project’s 25-year lifecycle. Notably, the commissioning of this solar initiative is projected to mitigate carbon emissions by 1,040,975 tonnes, aligning with the Government of India’s commitment to carbon reduction and fostering a carbon-neutral economy. SJVN CMD NL Sharma highlighted the project’s environmental contributions and its significant role in advancing India’s renewable energy objectives.
