UAE President, Gabonese Leader Discuss Renewable Energy Cooperation and Economic Ties in Abu Dhabi

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with His Excellency Brice Oligui Nguema, President of the Gabonese Republic, during the latterโ€™s working visit to the United Arab Emirates, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding economic cooperation across key priority sectors.

The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Mohamed welcomed President Nguema and expressed his hope that the visit would further enhance longstanding ties between the two nations. Discussions explored opportunities to deepen collaboration in strategic areas, including renewable energy, food security, and infrastructure development.

Both leaders also exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest, underscoring the importance of promoting peace and stability at regional and global levels to support sustainable development and economic progress.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAEโ€™s commitment to strengthening development partnerships with African countries, building on the nationโ€™s long-established engagement across the continent. He highlighted the UAEโ€™s approach of fostering constructive cooperation to drive growth and shared prosperity.

The two sides emphasised their shared commitment to advancing UAEโ€“Gabon relations, which span more than five decades, and expanding cooperation across priority development sectors. They noted that economic collaboration remains a cornerstone of the bilateral partnership.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, along with several ministers and senior officials.
