  • Deal builds on the two companiesโ€™ long-standing cooperation
  • Agreement advances utility Naturgyโ€™s growth in the renewable sector

Solar technology leader LONGi and energy utility firm Naturgy have signed a new module shipment agreement for Naturgyโ€™s 2024 solar projects in Spain. LONGi will deliver just over one million modules from its Hi-MO 5ย series, with a total output volume of 574 MWp. These bifacial modules feature a 21.3% efficiency rate, along with LONGiโ€™s gallium-doped technology, which is designed to reduce light-induced degradation and extend the modulesโ€™ power generation long-term, particularly important in the high heat and solar irradiance of Spain.

The Spanish multinational Naturgy plans to install the modules at upcoming projects in four project locations across the country, in the regions of Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura and Andalusia.

Jorge Barredo, Managing Director of Renewables, New Business and Innovation at Naturgy, said, โ€œThe scale of this new agreement with LONGi reflects Naturgyโ€™s ambition for renewables in Spain this year. LONGiโ€™s solar technology also offers us exceptionally efficient and durable performance. This is a key factor in building out Spanish photovoltaics and competing with traditional power sources.โ€

With Naturgyโ€™s extraordinary renewables track record, weโ€™re proud to be expanding our cooperation and supporting these major new projects. These new photovoltaic plants in Spain will showcase the business and technological leadership that weโ€™re committed to providing together.โ€

All five projects are expected to receive module shipments this year.
