In a significant development in the energy sector, Israel’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Eli Cohen, engaged in discussions with his Greek counterpart, Thodoros Skylakakis. The focus of their conversation centered around bolstering cooperation on joint projects, particularly the underwater power cable connecting Israel to Cyprus and onward to Greece. Additionally, both nations reiterated their commitment to the Israel-Europe natural gas pipeline project.

Expressing gratitude for Greece’s support during recent geopolitical events, Minister Cohen highlighted the strategic importance of connecting Israel to Europe through Greece. This collaboration aims to diversify Europe’s energy sources amid a significant energy crisis, contributing to regional stability.

The ministers outlined plans for Skylakakis’s upcoming visit to Israel, scheduled in the coming weeks. During this visit, discussions will culminate in the signing of an intergovernmental agreement dedicated to the energy sector, solidifying the commitment to shared projects.
