HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, highlighted that the initiative aligns with Dubai’s leadership vision of integrating advanced technologies across key sectors to boost productivity and service efficiency. “By transforming multiple data sources into practical tools, the solution supports decision-making and improves performance efficiency,” he said. “Designing electricity distribution networks using advanced software reduces planning time, lowers costs, enhances accuracy, and strengthens the network’s readiness to support rapid urban and economic growth. These efforts advance DEWA’s vision of smart and sustainable infrastructure that contributes to Dubai’s long-term strategic goals in sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence.”

The solution employs advanced software that creates two databases linked to network design systems, enabling engineers to plan 11kV networks more efficiently. The software consolidates data from multiple sources, including peak load sheets, the SAP system, and master single-line diagrams, into a unified format that supports precise and clear designs.

The implementation has already delivered measurable results, including reduced planning and design costs, faster processing times, and streamlined network designs, thereby enhancing engineering output and supporting service continuity to the highest standards.

Abdulla Al Aghbari, Acting Executive Vice President of Power and Water Planning at DEWA, noted, “This advanced software solution integrates data from multiple sources into a single platform, accelerating and improving design processes and supporting more efficient planning decisions. It reflects our commitment to smart solutions that strengthen the resilience of Dubai’s electricity grid and meet future growth requirements.”

The initiative underscores DEWA’s ongoing commitment to organisational innovation and the development of practical digital solutions led by its employees, reinforcing its leadership in the energy sector and supporting a smart, reliable, and sustainable electricity distribution network aligned with Dubai’s future ambitions.
