The CEE Group, a Hamburg-based asset manager focusing on renewable energies, has significantly expanded its green energy portfolio by acquiring an 80.9 MWp solar park in Brandenburg. This addition brings the group’s project count to 101, including 54 solar and 47 wind parks, totaling 1.9 gigawatts of output at the start of the year—a 35% increase from the previous year. With this capacity, the CEE Group can now supply green energy to 885,300 households, roughly equivalent to Munich’s size, thereby preventing nearly 1.5 million tons of CO2 emissions annually. A standout project in their expansion was the activation of a 154 MWp solar park in Döllen, marking it as Germany’s third-largest solar site. The group also expanded its reach in Spain, surpassing 200 MWp in portfolio size.

The asset manager has seen a substantial rise in assets under management, reaching EUR 2.6 billion, following a EUR 400 million investment in portfolio expansion last year. This growth underscores the CEE Group’s contribution to Europe’s energy transition and CO2 reduction targets, offering attractive investment avenues for institutional investors.

Looking ahead, the CEE Group aims to grow its renewable energy portfolio to 2.5 gigawatts by the end of 2024 and plans a more than threefold increase to 6.0 gigawatts within five years. Strategies such as repowering and hybridization of energy projects are key to this expansion, promising up to a 200% increase in total output. These methods not only leverage existing infrastructure for efficiency but also minimize land use, creating synergies for investors.

The CEE Group has bolstered its technical expertise to enhance portfolio management, increasing its workforce to 110 employees. This skilled team has improved plant availability and yields, with the overall portfolio generating 5% more green energy than anticipated last year, illustrating the success of their strategic and technical advancements.
