NTPC Group Surpasses 73,958 MW in Installed Capacity

NTPC REL’s inaugural solar project in Chhattargarh, Rajasthan achieved commercial operation of 70 MW on February 21, 2024, bolstering NTPC Group’s total installed capacity to 73,958 MW. With 17 projects underway, NTPC-REL is set to exceed 6,000 MW in capacity.

The Group’s renewable energy operational capacity now stands at 3,448 MW. Led by CEO Shri Mohit Bhargava and officials, the event marked a significant milestone. The Chhattargarh Solar project, slated for 150 MW, is expected to be fully commissioned by March 2024, secured under SECI-Tranche:III, benefiting Rajasthan.

Expected to generate 370 million units annually, powering 60,000 households, while reducing CO2 emissions by 3 lakhs tons annually and conserving 1000 MMTPA of water, equivalent to over 5,000 households yearly.
