Innergex Renewable Energy Inc is delighted to announce its successful bid in Codelco’s latest request for proposals in Chile, securing a contract to supply 350 GWh per year. This achievement reaffirms Innergex’s position as a key player in the Chilean renewable energy market. Under the terms of the agreement, Innergex will provide Codelco with clean energy sourced from its existing portfolio of assets and forthcoming projects from 2026 to 2040.
Michel Letellier, President and CEO of Innergex, expressed his satisfaction with the sizable power purchase agreement, highlighting it as a testament to Innergex’s reputation as a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions in Chile. Letellier emphasized the company’s readiness to engage with prestigious clients like Codelco, the world’s largest copper producer, and reiterated Innergex’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions that support sustainable development and promote environmental stewardship in the mining sector.
The long-term nature of the agreement significantly strengthens Innergex’s revenue stream, further enhancing the resilience and quality of its cash flows. This deal, equivalent to 135 MW of wind and solar capacity in Chile, aligns perfectly with Innergex’s growth objectives.
With an impressive 705 MW of installed capacity in Chile, including 50 MW of battery storage, and an additional 620 MW of projects in various stages of development, Innergex stands out as one of the leading players in Chile’s renewable energy landscape. Its diverse portfolio of hydro, wind, solar, and battery storage assets, strategically located across the country, positions Innergex as a reliable provider of 100% clean energy solutions, catering to the growing demand for round-the-clock renewable energy production.
