Gensol Engineering Lands Monumental INR 520 Crore Solar Project in Maharashtra with 135 MWp Capacity

Ahmedabad-based Gensol Engineering Limited, a leader in solar power engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services as well as the electric mobility sector, has announced securing a landmark EPC project in Maharashtra. This project, worth INR 520 Crore, marks the company’s largest order in terms of both size and value. Gensol will be responsible for the development of a solar PV power project with a capacity of 100 MWAC/135 MWp across an area of 500 acres. This significant achievement reinforces Gensol’s position as a frontrunner in the renewable energy industry.

The project is in alignment with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)’s policy introduced in April 2022, aimed at bolstering Maharashtra’s energy infrastructure and contributing to India’s sustainable energy targets. Gensol’s comprehensive role in this project includes land acquisition, design, engineering, procurement, logistics, as well as civil and electrical engineering works. Additionally, the company will handle permit acquisition, installation, commissioning of the plant, and a three-year operational management contract, which includes maintenance of the plant’s switchyard and transmission infrastructure.

Awarded by a leading power generation utility in Maharashtra, this contract highlights Gensol’s expertise and its consistent track record of timely project delivery within the renewable energy sector. The company is expected to complete the project within a 450-day timeframe.
