Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), in collaboration with Badia Farms, a prominent controlled environment food producer, has announced a significant investment in a new sustainable farm in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This strategic partnership, backed by the Kingdomโ€™s sovereign wealth fund Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), aims to revolutionize Bahrainโ€™s agricultural sector by introducing innovative and sustainable farming practices.

Badia Farms, renowned for its mission-driven sustainability efforts, will invest several million dollars in establishing the new farm, which will serve as an Agricultural Oasis in Hamala, Bahrain. Securing the land through a competitive bidding process on the Government Land Investment Platform, Badia Farms emerged as the successful bidder, leasing an area of 50,000 sq.m. from Edamah.

The project will implement cutting-edge hydroponic farming techniques within controlled environments, ensuring year-round crop production and reducing dependence on seasonal variations. One notable aspect of the initiative is its commitment to sustainability, with plans to recycle water and biodegradable matter for re-use and utilize solar panels to generate clean, green power.
