Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting with a bipartisan group from the US House of Representativesโ Ways and Means Committee, led by committee Chairperson Jason Smith and including representatives from both the Republican as well as Democratic parties.
The meeting underscored the importance of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, with Prime Minister Madbouly emphasizing the need for collaboration across various sectors grounded in mutual respect and shared interests. He highlighted the robust connections between Egypt and both factions within the US Congress.
Additionally, Madbouly outlined significant ongoing initiatives in Egypt, emphasizing their contributions to enhancing the well-being of Egyptians, fostering job creation, and bolstering infrastructure to attract investment. He emphasized Egypt’s dedication to renewable energy and green hydrogen projects, including successful joint ventures with American firms, while expressing appreciation for US economic assistance and looking forward to continued cooperation.
Various topics were discussed during the meeting, including Egypt’s economic performance, support for specific sectors like renewable energy, security cooperation, and collaboration on food security between the two nations, with the Prime Minister providing insights into these governmental priorities.
US Ambassador to Egypt, Herro Mustafa Garg, concluded the meeting by expressing gratitude for the Prime Minister’s hospitality toward the delegation and pledged to follow up on potential areas of cooperation between Egypt as well as the United States with relevant authorities.
