Schwing Stetter India, a premier manufacturer of construction and concreting equipment, recently launched a 1 MW solar power facility at its global manufacturing hub located in Cheyyar. The inauguration was led by the company’s Chairman & Managing Director, V.G. Sakthikumar. This strategic move is part of Schwing Stetter’s ambitious plan to achieve carbon neutrality by producing 14 lakh kWh of electricity annually, thereby covering 20% of its total yearly energy requirements through renewable sources.
The implementation of the solar power system aligns with the companyโs commitment to sustainability and supports the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s objective to significantly increase the nationโs solar capacity by the end of 2026. Schwing Stetter’s global manufacturing hub boasts the capacity to produce up to 14,000 machines every year, highlighting its significant role in the industry and its potential environmental impact.
V.G. Sakthikumar emphasized Schwing Stetter’s dedication to environmental stewardship and the adherence to the government’s green energy initiatives. He outlined the company’s efforts towards sustainability, which include transitioning to green energy for operational power, achieving carbon neutrality, and promoting circular and eco-friendly practices.
In a further commitment to environmental sustainability, Schwing Stetter India commemorated its 25th anniversary by planting 250,000 saplings nationwide, reinforcing its dedication to carbon neutrality and green energy solutions.
