Throughout the year, employees of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) dedicate themselves to charity and community work, investing numerous volunteer hours in a range of humanitarian initiatives. Particularly during the Holy Month of Ramadan, DEWA employees exhibit a strong desire to contribute to humanitarian causes.

In alignment with Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, observed annually on 19 Ramadan, DEWA launches an internal campaign, offering its employees the chance to engage in sustainable charity endeavors across various countries. This year, the focus is on constructing the Zayed Al Khair Well in Malawi, with the aim of benefiting over 10,000 individuals.

In 2023, employee donations, along with funding from DEWA, facilitated the provision of solar panels to power essential establishments such as a mosque, clinic, and school in a village in the Borgou Department of Benin, West Africa. This initiative, aimed at providing clean energy, was overseen by the Dar Al Ber Society. Additionally, in 2022, DEWA spearheaded the construction of a Zayed Al Khair well in Tajikistan.

DEWA endeavors to embody these humanitarian values across all its operations and activities, firmly believing that successful organizations strike a balance between achieving economic objectives and fulfilling their societal and environmental responsibilities.
