At the 26th World Energy Congress (WEC) 2024, Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary of the Ministry of Power, along with Mrs. Reenat Sandhu, Ambassador of India to the Netherlands, inaugurated the India Pavilion, showcasing India’s advancements in the energy sector. The event highlighted the collaboration of several Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) including the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Power, New & Renewable Energy, Coal, and Petroleum & Natural Gas.

The inauguration, led by high-profile Indian officials, set the stage for a detailed exposition of Indiaโ€™s strategic efforts in the renewable energy domain. Shri Pradip Kumar Das, the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of IREDA, along with other CPSE heads, welcomed the delegates. They emphasized India’s significant role at the congress and engaged in discussions revolving around IREDA’s recent achievements and the transformative impact of renewable technologies.

At IREDA’s booth, the presence of Secretary Agarwal and Ambassador Sandhu was marked by an exchange of ideas focusing on the agencyโ€™s best-ever financial outcomes, current projects, and future growth strategies. These discussions underscored the broader context of India’s commitment to harnessing renewable energy for sustainable development.

Participation from other notable CPSEs like Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Power Finance Corporation (PFC), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), Power Grid Corporation of India, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) collectively highlighted Indiaโ€™s leadership in the global energy transition. The event provided an opportunity for these enterprises to showcase their contributions towards Indiaโ€™s energy sector reforms and their alignment with global energy standards.
