Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), a prominent power utility serving 7 million residents in North Delhi, has appointed Mr. Gajanan Sampatrao Kale as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
In response to the appointment, Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power, expressed confidence in Mr. Kale’s leadership, citing his extensive experience in the distribution domain and anticipating his ability to steer Tata Power-DDL towards greater success.
Prior to this role, Mr. Kale served as the Chief Executive Officer of TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) from 2021 to 2024, and as the CEO of TP Ajmer Distribution Ltd (TPADL) from 2018 to 2020. He brings a wealth of experience from his previous tenure at Tata Power-DDL, where he led significant projects in operations transformation and network revamping.
Mr. Kale’s career spans various positions, including roles at BHEL in Bhopal, the Central Railway Nagpur Division, and Delhi Vidyut Board/Tata Power-DDL.
Mr. Sanjay Banga, President (T&D) at Tata Power, praised Mr. Kale’s track record in the distribution sector and expressed confidence in his ability to set new industry benchmarks.
In his statement, Mr. G. S Kale expressed gratitude for the appointment and his commitment to continuing Tata Power-DDL’s legacy of technological advancements and excellence. He highlighted his intention to drive growth, foster innovation, and deliver value to customers and stakeholders with the support of the Tata Power-DDL team.
Mr. Kale holds an M. Tech in Integrated Power Systems from the National Institute of Technology, Nagpur University, along with a B.E. degree in Electrical Power Systems from Amravati University. He also possesses an MBA in Finance and is an alumnus of the prestigious IIM Ahmedabad, where he completed an Advanced Management Program.
