Argentina Grants Authorization to Energías Renovables de la Esperanza for Photovoltaic Park

In a significant development, Argentina’s Ministry of Energy, under the Ministry of Economy, has granted authorization to Energías Renovables de la Esperanza to operate as a Generating Agent in the Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM). This authorization pertains to the 7.5 MW Energías Renovables de la Esperanza photovoltaic park, situated in the Coronel Pringles department of the Province of San Luis.

According to Resolution 63/2024, the plant will be connected to the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI) at the 33 kV La Toma – San Luis level, under the jurisdiction of the San Luis Energy Distribution Company (Edesal).

The resolution highlights that the plant’s request for entry into the MEM was published in the Official Gazette , without any objections raised. Furthermore, the Administrative Company of the Wholesale Electricity Market Sociedad Anónima (CAMMESA) has confirmed that the company meets all requirements regarding operational procedures and compliance with market regulations.

Additionally, the resolution authorizes CAMMESA to levy charges on Energías Renovables de la Esperanza for any cost overruns incurred by other MEM agents and penalties imposed on providers of the Technical Transport Function (FTT) due to potential unavailability resulting from the park’s operation.
