RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, has been chosen by Repsol to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services at the Frye Solar facility in Kress, Texas. This partnership reflects a shared dedication to sustainability and innovation, with a focus on maximizing the performance of Repsol’s 637 MWdc solar project.
Terry Oswald, Vice President of Operations and Maintenance at Repsol Renewables North America, emphasized the importance of the collaboration, stating, “By teaming with RES on this comprehensive O&M agreement, Repsol Renewables North America will ensure the highest levels of safety, reliability, and performance at our largest utility-scale solar site to date.”
RES will undertake preventive and corrective maintenance, remote monitoring, reporting, and vegetation management at the Frye Solar facility. Leveraging its extensive experience across the entire lifecycle of solar projects, RES aims to identify opportunities to enhance the project’s performance.
Stevan Vale, RES Senior Vice President, Services in the Americas, expressed gratitude for the partnership, highlighting RES’s commitment to leveraging knowledge and innovative technologies to unlock the full potential of the Frye facility.
RES’s reliability management approach to O&M includes diagnostic testing and risk assessment, enabling asset owners to optimize maintenance resources, reduce downtime, and maximize revenue generation. The company’s recent investments in its Services business, including the acquisition of Ingeteam’s renewable service division and the construction of a state-of-the-art operations control center, further strengthen its ability to deliver exceptional service to clients.
The partnership with Repsol underscores RES’s commitment to its Services business in the North American market, reinforcing its position as a leading provider of renewable energy services globally.
