AXS Energia Secures $31.3 Million for Distributed Solar Energy Projects Across Brazil

AXS Energia, a Roca group company specializing in renewable energy, has confirmed a new long-term operation consolidated in the first quarter of 2024. The operation, valued at $31.3 million, aims to finance solar energy plants for distributed micro and minigeneration.

The credit loan was taken by AXS Delaware, a subsidiary of AXS Energia, utilizing funds from the CIFI and Triodos groups. This financial backing will support the construction of 14 solar energy production plants across the states of Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, and Paraná, with a combined installed capacity of 39.7 MWp. XP Investimentos led the process.

The CIFI Group has evaluated over 600 infrastructure projects and participated in more than 200 transactions, totaling over $2 billion in Latin America and the Caribbean.

“This operation represents another important step in AXS’ mission to promote clean and sustainable energy in Brazil through shared solar energy, while also contributing to job creation and the economic growth of the regions where the plants operate,” said Eduardo Coutinho, commercial director of AXS Energia.

The initiative is projected to mitigate over 40,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually, aiding the fight against global warming. Additionally, it is expected to generate more than 760 jobs, both directly and indirectly, bolstering the local economy and benefiting the communities involved.
