PESB Endorses Ajay Kumar Sharma for Director (Personnel) at SJVN

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Ajay Kumar Sharma for the position of Director (Personnel) at SJVN, a prominent Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power. Sharma was chosen after a rigorous interview process, emerging as the top candidate among eleven contenders. He is currently the General Manager in the Corporate Human Resources department at SJVN.

Ajay Kumar Sharma joined SJVN in October 2009 and has since played a pivotal role in the HR department at the Corporate Headquarters in Shimla. His extensive contributions cover a broad spectrum of HR fields, including Personnel Planning, Administration, Industrial Relations & Welfare, HR Policy, Training & Human Resource Development, and HR Procurement. Sharma has also assisted the Director (Personnel) and the Chairperson & Managing Director of SJVN. Before joining SJVN, he worked at the Steel Authority of India Limited from 1996 to 2009.

Born on April 8, 1974, in the village of Khargat in the Sihunta subdivision of Chamba District, Ajay Kumar Sharma has a solid academic background. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, an MBA in Human Resources from IGNOU, and has completed an Executive Development Program in HRM from XLRI Jamshedpur.

Sharma’s appointment as Director (Personnel) is expected to bring significant expertise and leadership to SJVN, leveraging his extensive experience in human resources and organizational development. His career trajectory and contributions underscore his commitment to excellence in HR management, positioning him as a valuable asset to the organization.
