Trina Solar US, a global leader in smart solar products and solutions, announced a 30% increase in its North American workforce. This growth marks a milestone in the company’s commitment to homegrown American workers and creating nationwide job opportunities in manufacturing, sales, engineering, and support functions focused on the clean energy transition.
Trina Solar US grew to nearly 100 employees at the end of 2023. Scheduled for completion by the end of 2024, Trina’s new state-of-the-art 5GW photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing facility in Wilmer, Texas, will create an additional 1,500 local jobs in the Dallas-Fort-Worth (DFW) metroplex. On top of that, the facility’s annual module output capacity will be equivalent to powering 500,000 homes with renewable solar energy. Looking ahead to 2025, the company anticipates doubling the size of its team, further solidifying its position as a leading solar employer in the American clean tech sector.
According to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), new factories and facilities are creating well-paid jobs across the U.S. while strengthening the solar supply chain. Manufacturing jobs are expected to more than triple over the next decade and grow to nearly 120,000 workers by 2033, as indicated by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council’s (IREC) National Solar Jobs Census of 2022.
