The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has announced its findings regarding imports of Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Cells, which could pose a threat to the U.S. industry.

The USITC found reasonable indications that imports from Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam are sold in the United States at less than fair value and subsidized by their respective governments. Additionally, there are concerns about subsidized imports from Cambodia specifically.

The Commission’s affirmative determinations prompt further investigations by the U.S. Department of Commerce, with preliminary countervailing duty determinations due in July 2024 and preliminary antidumping duty determinations expected by October 2024.

The USITC’s report will be available by July 5, 2024, providing detailed insights into the investigations and the Commission’s views. This development underscores ongoing efforts to protect domestic industries and ensure fair trade practices.
