POWERGRID Issues Tender For 220 kV Substation Expansion To Integrate 300 MW Solar And BESS Projects In Rajasthan

The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has issued a new tender for a major substation development package in Rajasthan aimed at strengthening grid connectivity for upcoming renewable energy projects. The tender focuses on the Substation Package SS-07, which includes the implementation of one 220 kV line bay at the 765/400/220 kV Barmer-I pooling substation. This work will support the interconnection of Anboto Solar Private Limited’s renewable power projects with a combined capacity of 250 MW plus an additional 50 MW.

The package also includes the creation of one 220 kV line bay at the 400/220 kV Fatehgarh-III (Section 1) pooling station for integrating the battery energy storage system of JSW Renew Energy Five Ltd. The scope of work covers detailed engineering, design, supply, and complete construction activities required for establishing these new line bays.

The tender was officially released on 10 January 2026 at 6:30 PM. The same date marks the start of the document sale period as well as the start of soft-copy and hard-copy bid submission. Interested bidders can purchase documents and submit soft-copy bids until 31 January 2026 at 11:00 AM. Hard-copy submissions will be accepted until 2 February 2026 at 11:00 AM, ensuring that bidders have adequate time to complete procedural requirements. The pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 20 January 2026 at 11:00 AM, providing an opportunity for prospective bidders to clarify technical and commercial aspects.

The tender carries a non-refundable fee of ₹25,000 for document purchase. The Earnest Money Deposit has been set at ₹15,90,000, which must be submitted by bidders as part of their application. Although the tender value is marked as zero in the notice, the performance bank guarantee requirement will apply as per the qualification and contractual standards specified in the detailed tender documents.
