President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a significant meeting with Mr. Song Hailiang, Chairman of the Board of China Energy Engineering Corp., and senior executives during his state visit to Beijing. The discussions, as reported by Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy, Spokesman of the Presidency, highlighted Egypt’s strategic intent to bolster Chinese investments and deepen collaboration with Chinese firms, with China Energy at the forefront.
President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening ties with China Energy, underscoring the corporation’s pivotal role in several key Egyptian projects. He emphasized Egypt’s focus on leveraging China Energy’s expertise and capabilities, particularly in advancing projects related to green hydrogen. Moreover, Egypt aims to localize industries, enhance technological capabilities, and create employment opportunities within the Egyptian market.
The discussions also centered on new project proposals and strategies to advance ongoing joint initiatives. Chairman Song Hailiang expressed appreciation for the existing cooperation and described Egypt as a highly promising market in the energy and green hydrogen sectors. He reiterated China Energy’s dedication to expanding mutual cooperation areas to serve the interests of both Egypt and China.
The meeting concluded with mutual agreement on enhancing coordination and exploring further avenues for collaborative projects that align with Egypt’s sustainable development goals and China’s expertise in energy solutions.
