Empowering South African Communities: CDW And Dell Technologies Launch Solar Community Hub In Newlands

In a collaborative effort aimed at community empowerment, CDW, alongside Dell Technologies and other partners, has successfully inaugurated a Solar Community Hub in Newlands, South Africa. This innovative hub, built from recycled shipping containers and powered by solar energy, is set to bridge the digital divide and foster local development.

Suzette Carty, Head of Global ESG at CDW, conveyed her excitement about the collaboration with Dell Technologies, affirming, “We are delighted to join forces with Dell to bring this Solar Community Hub to fruition in the Newlands area. This project reflects CDWโ€™s commitment to ensuring that technology opens up limitless possibilities for everyone.โ€

Dell Technologies has a long-standing commitment to establishing Solar Community Hubs globally, having positively impacted over two million students and community members across various countries, including Brazil, Colombia, Kenya, and Egypt. These hubs serve as educational centers, empowering residents with skills essential for engaging in the digital economy, particularly in STEM careers.
