Singapore-based Digital Edge Holdings Pte. Ltd., one of Asiaโs fastest-growing data center platforms with over 500 MW of secured capacity, has partnered with Peak Energy Investments Ltd., a leading renewable developer and independent power producer operating across Asia. This collaboration aims to develop renewable energy projects to power Digital Edgeโs data centers throughout the region.
The partnership will focus on an initial pipeline of 500 MW of operating capacity for both existing and planned data centers over the next three years. Peak Energy will target renewable energy projects utilizing solar, wind, and storage technologies in countries where Digital Edge has deployments, including Japan, Korea, Indonesia, India, and the Philippines, along with other rapidly growing markets to support Digital Edgeโs expansion. These projects aim to decarbonize up to 1 GW of power and generate more than 1,300 GWh annually, equivalent to removing 216,000 cars from the road. The partnership will also advance the business and sustainability goals of both companies.
Samuel Lee, CEO of Digital Edge, stated, โWe are thrilled to partner with Peak Energy to scale our renewable energy usage across the region as we strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. Our EDGE1 facility in Jakarta is already the first data center in Indonesia to run on 100% renewables. Through this partnership with Peak Energy, we will further build on these initiatives and advance our ESG goals.โ
Gavin Adda, CEO of Peak Energy, added, โPeak Energy is dedicated to helping corporates reduce their power costs and carbon footprints sustainably. We look forward to expanding our relationship with Digital Edge on this exciting initiative, fostering the common business objectives of our rapidly growing companies throughout the Asia Pacific region.โ
Both Digital Edge and Peak Energy are portfolio companies of Stonepeak, a leading alternative investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets with a strong focus on data centers and renewable energy.
