Roullier Group Inaugurates 4 MWp Solar Power Plant in France, Advances Decarbonization Efforts

Roullier Group, a leader in soil, plant, animal, and agri-food nutrition, has inaugurated a 4 MWp photovoltaic power plant in Dominelais-Les Gressières on a former motocross site. Developed, built, and operated by Urbasolar under a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) signed in 2023, the four-hectare installation is dedicated exclusively to Roullier Group’s energy needs.

The solar park is expected to generate approximately 5 GWh of green energy annually, covering 5% of Roullier Group’s national energy consumption across its 35 French industrial units. This initiative is part of Roullier Group’s ambitious goal to reduce CO2 emissions by 30% from 2022 to 2040, leveraging various strategies including biomass for heat production, which currently fulfills 25% of its national energy requirements.

Under its partnership with Urbasolar, Roullier Group has also committed to a second CPPA for a 5 MWp photovoltaic power plant in Montpon-Ménestérol, scheduled to commence on January 1, 2025. Together, these agreements will eventually supply 15% of Roullier Group’s electricity needs in France.
