Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced the acquisition of significant contracts to develop two large-scale Solar PV plants in the Middle East, with a combined capacity of 3.5 GW. The contracts were secured with a leading regional developer.

The comprehensive scope of these projects includes grid interconnections, pooling substations, and overhead transmission lines. Detailed engineering and initial construction are expected to commence shortly.

This development follows L&T’s recent success in securing a solar-cum-storage plant order in India. With these new projects, L&Tโ€™s renewable energy portfolio is set to reach a cumulative capacity of 22 GWp, including both solar and wind generation projects that are either already operational or under development.

Mr. T Madhava Das, Whole-time Director & Senior Executive Vice President (Utilities) at L&T, emphasized the significance of these achievements: โ€œThe successive order wins stand testimony to our proven engineering and project management capabilities to meet the requirements in terms of plant performance, workforce mobilization, safety, quality, and timeline.
