Sunsure Energy, a prominent renewable power producer in India, has announced the initiation of solar power supply to Merino Industries, a global leader in high-pressure laminates, furniture, and surface solutions. Earlier this year, both companies signed a solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for intra-state supply, allowing Sunsure to deliver approximately 10 million units of renewable energy annually to Merinoโ€™s Hapur plant. This collaboration builds upon Sunsure’s previous achievement of installing a rooftop solar solution at the same facility in May 2020. With this new PPA, Merino Industries aims to fulfill more than 60% of its energy requirements from clean, renewable sources, significantly advancing its environmental sustainability initiatives.

Merino Industries, renowned globally for its premium decorative laminates and commitment to Social Responsibility, Good Governance, and Environment & Sustainability, has received accolades from organizations like CII, ESG Research Foundation, and the Indian Green Energy Federation for its dedication to renewable energy.

The partnership with Sunsure Energy marks a significant milestone for both entities, emphasizing Merino Industriesโ€™ ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint. This PPA is expected to result in substantial annual savings of CO2 emissions, further supporting Merino’s commitment to Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI) goals.
