Heliene, Inc., a customer-first provider of North American-made solar PV modules, and Premier Energies, Indiaโ€™s second-largest solar cell manufacturer, have announced a joint venture to establish a solar cell manufacturing facility in the U.S. Under the terms of the agreement, the new facility will produce 1 GW of NType cells annually, meeting the cell requirements for both Heliene and Premier.

This venture is a strategic investment in the U.S. solar industry, leveraging incentives and tax credits for domestic clean energy manufacturing introduced by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022.

Building on a longstanding partnership, Heliene and Premier Energies are committed to delivering reliable and sustainable solar products. Currently, Heliene sources solar cells from Premierโ€™s Hyderabad facility for its module manufacturing in Mountain Iron, MN.

In this joint venture, Heliene will provide expertise in construction, project management, human resources, facility operations, supply chain logistics, and regulatory compliance. Premier will contribute its cell technology engineering, operational expertise, manufacturing equipment selection, financial resources, and raw material vendor relationships. Further details on the projectโ€™s scope and timeline will be announced soon. โ€œPremier Energies has been a valued partner of Helieneโ€™s for many years now and we share a commitment to providing the highest-quality, most-reliable products to solar customers. With demand for U.S.-made modules and components growing, now is the perfect time to embark on the next phase of our partnership with this joint venture,โ€ said Martin Pochtaruk, CEO of Heliene. โ€œOur new cell manufacturing facility will not only expand the footprint and impact of each of our companies, but it will also establish us as true leaders in the effort to friend-shore up the U.S. solar manufacturing supply chain.
