Juwi GmbH, a subsidiary of MVV Energie AG, has finalized an agreement with Foresight and Mirova for the sale of a 267 MW photovoltaic (PV) portfolio in Greece. As part of the deal, Juwi has been appointed as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contractor. Construction is slated to commence in August 2024, with commissioning expected in the first quarter of 2026.

The sold portfolio, acquired by Juwi Hellas in November 2023 from Hive Energy Ltd., consists of three clusters with capacities of 160 MW, 40 MW, and 67 MW. Located in the Fthiotida and Larissa regional units of Central Greece, the projects span approximately 430 hectaresโ€”equivalent to over 600 football fieldsโ€”around 300 kilometers north of Athens.

Juwi will oversee the technical design, procurement, and construction of the solar projects. Once operational, the PV systems will utilize around 430,000 bifacial solar modules, over 800 string inverters, and approximately 16,000 single-axis tracker systems. The installations are projected to generate 515 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, sufficient to power more than 100,000 Greek residents.

Takis Sarris, Managing Director of Juwi Hellas, expressed satisfaction with the sale, noting, โ€œWe are confident that we will deliver state-of-the-art projects as always.โ€

Foresight Partner Diomidis Dorkofikis remarked on the investment’s alignment with their sustainable energy goals, while Mirovaโ€™s Investment Director Helene Dimitracopoulos praised the projectโ€™s contribution to Greeceโ€™s energy transition.

Legal support for the transaction was provided by Karatzas & Partners for Juwi Hellas, and Zepos & Yannopoulos for Foresight and Mirova.
