Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, inaugurated the second round table meeting for potential green hydrogen investors in Aqaba. The event saw participation from the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, along with government agencies, international financiers, and donors.
Dr. Al-Kharabsheh, speaking via Zoom, highlighted that this meeting builds on the successful investor discussions held in March. He expressed gratitude to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority for facilitating site visits for the proposed green hydrogen projects.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the ongoing studies to develop the necessary infrastructure for Jordan’s green hydrogen industry. These studies were conducted in collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and international consultant IFL Company, who presented initial project concepts during the meeting.
The meeting in Aqaba was strategically organized to allow investors to tour the designated sites for green hydrogen facilities and associated desalination plants, fostering an interactive environment for discussion and idea exchange among all attendees.
