UAE And Chile Forge Comprehensive Partnership To Boost Renewable Energy And Economic Ties

In a recent bilateral meeting, H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, and H.E. Nicolás Grau, Chilean Minister of Economy, Development, and Tourism, discussed strategies to deepen economic cooperation between their countries. The meeting underscored the UAE’s expanding economic relations with Chile and marked the signing of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

The CEPA aims to bolster investment flows, expand trade, and foster partnerships between the UAE and Chile, facilitating easier access to markets in Asia and South America. This agreement reflects the commitment of both nations to enhance economic collaboration across several sectors, including tourism, aviation, renewable energy, technology, and agriculture.

H.E. Bin Touq emphasized Chile’s value as a key economic partner in South America, highlighting its favorable investment environment. He expressed optimism about elevating bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities in sectors of mutual interest.

The discussions also covered the importance of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and facilitating their entry into international markets. Both ministers agreed on the need to empower SMEs and enable Chilean entrepreneurs to benefit from the UAE’s business environment.

Tourism and aviation were also key topics, with both sides exploring the potential for joint initiatives to promote tourism attractions and historical sites in each country. The ministers agreed on the need for increased dialogue between delegations and trade missions to stay informed about economic policies and opportunities.

H.E. Bin Touq invited Minister Grau to participate in the fourth edition of Investopia, scheduled for February 2025. This event will offer a platform to discuss global investment strategies and foster collaboration across various economic domains.

This new partnership reflects a strong commitment from both the UAE and Chile to enhance economic cooperation and explore new avenues for mutual growth and development.
