Chad has taken a significant step toward a sustainable energy future with the inauguration of a new photovoltaic (PV) system installed by Aptech Africa. The ceremony, attended by Minister of Water and Energy Passalรฉ Kanabรฉ Marcelin, government officials, Aptech Africa representatives, and local community members, underscores the country’s commitment to expanding access to clean and reliable energy.

In his speech, Minister Kanabรฉ emphasized the symbolic importance of the PV system, stating, โ€œWe are determined to promote renewable energy as a cornerstone of our development. This photovoltaic system is not just an energy solution; it is a symbol of progress for our country.โ€ His remarks highlight the government’s recognition of renewable energy as a key driver of progress and a cornerstone of Chadโ€™s future.

The advanced PV system, designed and installed by Aptech Africa, features a standalone ground-mounted 78kWp solar PV minigrid with a 324kWh battery bank storage, utilizing Ulica solar modules, Alpha ESS inverters, and Lithium-ion batteries. The system includes a remote monitoring feature, providing real-time updates on performance. A key aspect of the minigrid is its distribution line, which extends electricity access to communities distant from the main power grid.
