Sharika Enterprises Appoints Shyama Prasad Mukherjee as Independent Director

Sharika Enterprises, a leading name in the power sector, has announced the appointment of Mr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee as an Independent Director. With over 36 years of experience in the industry and a robust academic background, Mr. Mukherjee brings a wealth of expertise to the company.

Mr. Mukherjee, a Civil Engineering graduate with Honours from IIT Roorkee, also holds a Master of Technology in Structural Engineering from IIT Bombay and an MBA in Financial Management from IGNOU, New Delhi. He is a Fellow Member of the Institution of Engineers (India), a Chartered Engineer, and a Life Member of both the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi, and the Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad.

His career in Civil Engineering, particularly in the hydropower sector, includes notable roles such as working in the design and engineering department of NHPC Limited for over 15 years. Prior to joining Sharika Enterprises, Mr. Mukherjee served as the Regional Executive Director of NHPC and CEO at Lanco Teesta Hydro Power Limited. He is recognized for his leadership in executing major projects, including the 500 MW Teesta-VI Hydro Electric Project in Sikkim.

Mr. Mukherjee’s international experience spans countries such as Bhutan, Germany, Russia, the Netherlands, DRC Congo, Singapore, and Hong Kong. He has been instrumental in developing innovative solutions for environmental flow release from dam gates and managing floating debris in hydro project reservoirs.
