Bharat Electricity, in collaboration with POWERGEN India and Indian Utility Week, is set to host a significant three-day energy summit from September 4th to 6th, 2024, at Yashobhoomi, IICC, Dwarka, New Delhi. The event, organized by iTen Media and The Energy & Climate Initiatives Society (ENCIS), aims to drive the future of India’s energy sector by gathering key policymakers, industry leaders, and global experts.
The summit will kick off with an opening ceremony on September 4th, focusing on “Opportunities in Amrit Kaal Through Energy Transition.” Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister of Power and Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, will be the Chief Guest. Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Shri Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi, Minister of New & Renewable Energy, are expected as Guests of Honor. Shri P.K. Pujari, IAS (Retd), Former Union Power Secretary and Chairman of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, will deliver the theme address.
The first day will feature two plenary sessions. The Opening Plenary will include discussions with senior IAS Officers and policymakers such as Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Secretary of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, and Shri Pankaj Jain, Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The Leadership Plenary, titled “Charting the Energy Horizon,” will see participation from industry figures including Shri Gurdeep Singh, Chairman & Managing Director of NTPC Ltd, and Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Power Company Ltd. Topics will include Green Hydrogen Horizons and a bilateral session on energy trade.
September 5th will feature strategic discussions including the “Energy CEO Roundtable” and “Utility CEO Roundtable,” followed by CIO Roundtables. Panels will cover subjects like autonomous power generation, smart grid innovations, gas-powered generation, and smart metering infrastructure. The day will also offer networking opportunities and bilateral trade discussions.
The final day, September 6th, will address balancing India’s energy mix, the future of electricity markets, and emission control. Insights will be shared by leading women in the industry, with closing remarks emphasizing India’s commitment to sustainable growth and its impact on global energy practices.

The summit is expected to advance sustainable energy access and contribute to more reliable and affordable power in India. Key outcomes will include strategies for India’s low-carbon transition, innovations in renewable energy, and the development of critical infrastructure like EV charging networks. The Government of India, through active participation from ministries including Power, New and Renewable Energy, External Affairs, and Environment, supports this initiative, highlighting its importance in shaping a sustainable energy future for the nation.
