
Dr. Ali Saif Mohammed Hassan, Yemen’s Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water, convened with the leadership of the Electrical Industries and Renewable Energy Corporation today at the Ministryโs General Diwan. The meeting focused on evaluating the Corporation’s activities, addressing operational challenges, and exploring future expansion strategies.
Abdulghani Al-Madani, Chairman of the Corporation, provided an overview of the organizationโs ongoing projects and programs. He detailed the Corporation’s efforts in manufacturing, renewable energy, and training, highlighting recent initiatives in Saada Governorate and Bani Hashish. These projects include hybrid energy solutions and a new wind turbine manufacturing venture.
Minister Hassan commended the Corporationโs achievements over the past two years and encouraged a collaborative approach to overcoming current obstacles. He stressed the importance of rapidly advancing stalled projects, leveraging local resources for renewable energy, and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
The Minister also emphasized the need for collaboration with Yemeni universities to enhance local industries and to ensure that turbine selections adhere to international standards. He urged the Corporation to focus on manufacturing smart meters for electricity and water, as well as other monitoring devices.
Additionally, Dr. Hassan instructed the formation of a dedicated engineering team from the Ministry and its affiliated agencies to expedite project progress and report on developments. He also recommended integrating the Water Corporationโs training center with the General Corporation for Electrical Industries and Renewable Energyโs training and qualification division.
The general managers of the Corporation welcomed the Ministerโs directives, viewing the meeting as a pivotal step towards enhancing operational efficiency and expanding the Corporation’s scope in line with available resources and assigned tasks.
