The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has formalized a significant partnership with Siemens Energy, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing the future of clean energy in the UAE. The agreement was signed by His Excellency Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, and Mr. Khalid bin Hadi, CEO of Siemens Energy, during the World Utilities Congress at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

This MoU outlines a collaborative framework to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two parties with a focus on promoting sustainable development, tackling challenges related to grid infrastructure, and exploring new technological opportunities for energy transition. The partnership aims to foster innovation, share knowledge, and develop research in areas critical to the UAE’s energy future.

Key aspects of the MoU include the exchange of knowledge, conducting technical workshops, and brainstorming sessions to address various challenges related to network expansion, reliability, and industrial development. The agreement also envisions cooperation with local universities and research institutes to develop expertise in energy transition and explore opportunities related to renewable energy integration and hydrogen production.

His Excellency Eng. He also highlighted the role of Siemens Energy in strengthening the UAE’s position as a global hub for clean and sustainable energy.

Khalid Bin Hadi, CEO of Siemens Energy, echoed these sentiments, expressing commitment to working with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure to realize the UAE’s vision for a sustainable energy future. “We are dedicated to developing technological solutions that drive the energy transition and combat climate change,” he said.

The MoU signifies a strategic move towards integrating innovative solutions into the UAE’s energy sector, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, and enhancing the national economy and environment through advanced infrastructure and renewable energy technologies.
