The Solar Week UAE 2024: Conference & Awards, organized by SolarQuarter, took place on September 12, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights. The event brought together prominent leaders in the UAE’s solar energy sector for a series of insightful panel discussions, focusing on the country’s renewable energy goals and strategies to drive innovation in the industry.
The first panel, “CXO Roundtable: Integrating Renewables – Strategies for Utility Solar & Storage Expansion in UAE,” featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Dr. Samar AlGhalebi, Energy Expert and Sustainability Advocate; Hari Prasad, Technical Director at Capton Energy; Stephen Molden, Director of Execution and Delivery at Infinity Power; Amir Mokhtar, Director – Development & Project Management at Three Eight Six; and Waleed Alhallaj, Head of Business Development MENA at Amarenco.
Moderated by industry experts, the discussion explored critical strategies for expanding utility-scale solar and storage projects across the UAE. Panelists addressed the importance of integrating cutting-edge technologies and storage solutions to meet the country’s growing energy demands and sustainability goals. The discussion also highlighted the UAE’s efforts to diversify its energy mix, with a focus on optimizing the grid and ensuring long-term reliability and resilience in renewable energy infrastructure.
The second panel, “Empowering C&I Growth: Innovations and Strategies in Distributed Solar and Energy Storage,” delved into the growing commercial and industrial (C&I) solar market. This discussion featured leading voices, including Pierre Cheyron, Managing Director Africa, Middle East, and Asia at ENGIE Energy Solutions; Michel Abi Saab, General Manager at Emerge Limited; Valantis Mikrommatis, Vice President of Key Account Development at Yellow Door Energy; Manoj Divakaran, Managing Director at Empereal Energy Services; Laurent Longuet, CEO at SirajPower; Jeffrey Beyer, Managing Director at Zest Associates; L K Verma, Founder & Managing Director at Powernsun; and Wasif Shaikh, CTO at X-NOOR.

Panelists discussed the future of distributed solar systems and energy storage innovations that are transforming the C&I sector.
