The Solar Week Zambia 2024: Conference & Awards, organized by SolarQuarter, took place on October 10th, 2024, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lusaka, Zambia. The event gathered industry leaders, policy experts, and innovators from across the renewable energy sector to discuss Zambia’s solar energy future and its role in driving economic growth and sustainability.
Delivering a powerful keynote address, Mr. Chabuka Jerome Kawesha, Vice President (Southern Africa) of The Pan African Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PACCI), emphasized the critical role of cross-regional collaboration in unlocking Africa’s renewable energy potential. “Zambia stands at a pivotal moment in its solar energy journey, and the collective efforts of both local and international stakeholders will be vital in driving forward the country’s energy independence and sustainable development,” said Mr. Kawesha. His speech highlighted the importance of strong partnerships between the public and private sectors to accelerate renewable energy projects across Africa.
The event facilitated engaging discussions on the latest trends in Zambia’s solar industry, key policy frameworks, and innovative solutions aimed at expanding the country’s utility-scale solar infrastructure. Participants were able to connect with leading experts, explore investment opportunities, and share best practices to drive Zambia’s energy transition forward.
