JSW Renew Energy Six Limited and JSW Renew Energy Thirty Limited, step-down subsidiaries of JSW Energy Limited, have signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) for a combined 1,200 MW Solar-Wind Hybrid capacity. These agreements cover two projects, each with a capacity of 600 MW, under a 25-year term at a tariff of โน3.60/kWh. The Letters of Award for these projects were received on August 29 and September 10, 2024, respectively.
The hybrid projects are expected to be commissioned within 24 months and will be connected to the State Transmission Utility (STU) in Maharashtra. This is part of JSW Energy’s broader project pipeline of 8.3 GW, with 4.4 GW already secured under PPAs.
Currently, JSW Energy’s total generation capacity stands at 18.2 GW, which includes 7.7 GW of operational projects and 2.1 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro sectors. The company also boasts 16.2 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects, aiming to expand to 40 GWh by 2030. JSW Energy is targeting a total generation capacity of 20 GW by 2030 and has set an ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
