KERC Seeks Stakeholder Input On Draft Renewable Energy Procurement Regulations In Karnataka

The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has published the draft “KERC (Procurement of Energy from Renewable Sources) (Eleventh Amendment) Regulations, 2024” and is inviting objections, suggestions, and views from stakeholders and interested individuals. The draft regulations were initially released through the Karnataka Gazette.

As part of the consultation process, KERC has scheduled a public hearing on December 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Court Hall of the Commission. This hearing will provide an opportunity for stakeholders and interested parties to participate and present their views in person. The Commission encourages all concerned individuals or organizations to engage in the process and submit their feedback.

The regulation aims to address various aspects related to the procurement of energy from renewable sources, which is an important step in advancing the stateโ€™s renewable energy goals. The draft regulations will be reviewed based on the feedback received during the hearing and through written comments.
