The first project, a 10.7 MW photovoltaic park, is being developed on a 15-hectare plot of agricultural wasteland. Innovative solar panel trackers and a tailored irrigation system will allow farming activities to resume alongside energy generation. The other two projects, with capacities of 8.2 MW and 6.2 MW, will feature fixed-structure solar farms. Collectively, these projects will generate enough electricity to power over 18,000 residents annually while preventing 7,500 tons of CO2 emissions. “With a capacity of 461 megawatts in operation and under construction, Voltalia is a major player in renewable energy in mainland France and French Guiana. In addition, Voltalia is developing a pipeline of more than two gigawatts of future projects in the country”, said Sébastien Clerc, Chief Executive Officer of Voltalia.
