NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a fully owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has successfully won 1,000 MW in Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited’s (UPPCL) Solar PV Power Project auction. The e-reverse auction, conducted on 3rd January 2025, was part of a tender for the selection of solar power developers to set up 2,000 MW of ISTS-connected solar PV power projects under tariff-based competitive bidding.

NTPC REL secured a significant 1,000 MW capacity with an attractive tariff of ₹2.56 per kWh. The Letter of Award (LOA) from UPPCL is awaited to formalize the project.
