The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025, a global platform backed by the UAE and its clean energy leader Masdar, will once again host the Green Hydrogen Summit, bringing together top industry leaders to drive the widespread adoption of green hydrogen across various sectors. The event is set to play a crucial role in advancing Abu Dhabiโ€™s vision to become a global hub for green hydrogen, supporting innovation and investment in the sector.

The 2025 Green Hydrogen Summit is aligned with Abu Dhabiโ€™s Low Carbon Hydrogen Policy and the UAE’s National Hydrogen Strategy 2050, demonstrating the nation’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, highlighted green hydrogen’s pivotal role in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors and its potential to accelerate the global transition to net-zero emissions.

“Green hydrogen is a critical pillar in the transformation of energy systems, unlocking pathways to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors and offering a powerful opportunity to accelerate progress toward net-zero goals,” said Al Ramahi. “The UAE is committed to leading the way in developing and deploying this vital technology, with ADSW standing at the nexus of new thinking and action, driving the rapid scale-up of green hydrogen production for a more sustainable world.”

The summit will feature a variety of formats, including high-level plenary panels, fireside chats, and working sessions, designed to foster meaningful dialogue and facilitate actionable solutions. Building on the success of previous editions, the 2025 summit will focus on deepening collaboration, unlocking investment opportunities, deploying sustainable financial models, and harmonizing global standards for green hydrogen.

Masdar, a key player in the green hydrogen sector, is actively developing power-to-X projects both in the UAE and globally. The company aims to produce 1 million tonnes of green hydrogen or its derivatives annually within the next decade. Masdarโ€™s strategy includes investing in strategic projects and building scalable platforms in key markets, focusing on decarbonizing industries such as aviation, marine, and steel. The company is also working to establish reliable supply chains for green ammonia, eMethanol, SAF, eMethane, and liquid hydrogen, contributing to the global energy systems transformation.

The summit is supported by partners including the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), ADNOC, Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA), EMSTEEL, Fertiglobe, and BEEAH. Together, they aim to advance the global green hydrogen dialogue and drive tangible progress towards establishing a thriving green hydrogen ecosystem.
