ERC Chair Dimalanta Discusses Climate Change, Energy, and Environmental Law

Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Chairperson and CEO Monalisa C. Dimalanta was among the key experts who participated in discussions on climate change, energy issues, and environmental law during the Supreme Court’s inaugural National Summit on Environmental Law.

The event, titled the Kalikasan Summit, carried the theme โ€œEnabling Environmental and Climate Justice: Bridging Science and Laws for Responsive Rules and Sustainable Development.โ€ The summit focused on integrating scientific research and legal frameworks to tackle pressing environmental challenges in the country.

In her remarks, Chairperson Dimalanta emphasized the importance of addressing environmental issues in the national discourse, stating, โ€œThis is one of the central conversations that we need to have and does not often get enough coverage in mainstream discussions.โ€ She also expressed appreciation for the Supreme Courtโ€™s innovative approach, highlighting its efforts to not only adopt technology for broader access to justice but also foster a shift in mindset towards sustainable solutions.
