UAE Commits To Net Zero: Minister Highlights Ambitious Renewable Energy Goals at IRENA Assembly

Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, reaffirmed the nation’s dedication to accelerating the global energy transition during the 15th International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Assembly held in Abu Dhabi.

Delivering the host country’s statement, Dr. Al Dahak outlined the UAE’s commitment to doubling its clean and renewable energy capacity as part of its Net Zero by 2050 Strategy. She also emphasized the UAE Consensus, an ambitious framework established at COP28, which calls for tripling renewable energy capacity and doubling energy efficiency by 2030.
