Spearmint Energy, a clean energy company focused on providing reliable, low-cost energy through battery storage, has announced that Michael Weinstein has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Head of Investor Relations, starting immediately. In this new position, Mr. Weinstein will work to strengthen and grow the companyโs relationships with both current and potential investors, as well as support efforts to raise capital for the business.
Mr. Weinstein brings 25 years of experience in banking, fund management, and investor relations, with a strong background in the energy sector. Before joining Spearmint, he was the Head of Investor Relations at SunPower Corporation. He also led the equity research team for Utilities and Alternative Energy at Credit Suisse, where he received recognition in the 2019 and 2020 Institutional Investor All-America Alternative Energy team poll.
His previous roles include serving as a portfolio manager at UBS OโConnor, a senior energy analyst at Zimmer Lucas Partners, and an equities analyst at Goldman Sachs. Mr. Weinstein is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where he earned a B.S. in Physics, and later obtained a M.A. in National Security Policy from Georgetown University. He also served in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm.

Michael Weinstein joins Spearmint Energy as the company continues to grow its team across various functions and regions. Over the past year, Spearmint has made key hires in areas like Project Finance and Development. The company now has more than 60 employees, a significant increase from 31 at the end of 2023.
