JA Solar, a global leader in photovoltaic technology, showcased its unwavering commitment to sustainability and innovation at the 2025 World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi. The event saw JA Solar forging transformative partnerships, recognizing industry excellence, and driving renewable energy solutions for a greener future.
Strategic Partnership with Masdar
On January 16, JA Solar announced a groundbreaking partnership with Masdar, a premier renewable energy company in the UAE. As the preferred supplier for the worldโs first 7/24 Solar PV and battery storage gigascale project, which is also the worldโs largest solar and BESS project, JA Solar is set to make a lasting impact on the region’s energy landscape. The project is expected to deliver a stable base load capacity of up to 1 GW per day, significantly reducing fossil fuel dependency, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and advancing the UAEโs 2050 net-zero emissions strategy.

Celebrating Collaboration and Excellence
On January 15, JA Solar recognized several key partners with the prestigious Partnership Excellence Award for their contributions to the solar energy industry. PowernSun, Jubaili, and Eshraq received accolades for their unwavering commitment to renewable energy. Furthermore, strategic agreements were formalized to deepen collaborations:

- PowernSun: Signed a PV distribution agreement, reinforcing their mutual dedication to innovation and carbon reduction.
- Jubaili: Entered a PV distribution agreement, marking another milestone in advancing DeepBlue 5.0 technology.
- Eshraq: Honored for their five-year partnership with a 100 MW distribution agreement, cementing their role in driving sustainability.

JA Solar also recognized GSI, presenting them with the Partnership Excellence Award and signing a 110 MW PV agreement. These partnerships underscore JA Solar’s relentless pursuit of innovation and excellence in the solar sector.

Record-Breaking Agreements in Africa
Kicking off WFES 2025 on January 14, JA Solar signed a landmark 1.25 GW module procurement agreement with China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) for the Abydos Phase II PV-Storage Project. This project, developed by AMEA Power and spanning 20 square kilometers, is set to be Africa’s largest PV installation paired with the continentโs largest battery storage system. Once operational, it will:
- Generate 3,000 GWh annually.
- Supply electricity to over 500,000 households.
- Offset more than 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
This project is pivotal in supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030 and Clean Energy Action Plan. Additionally, the recently completed 500 MW Abydos Solar PV Plant, which JA Solar contributed to, exemplifies the companyโs role in driving Africaโs renewable energy progress.

Leading the Renewable Energy Transition
JA Solarโs presence at WFES 2025 highlighted its position as a global innovator and leader in renewable energy. By fostering robust collaborations, introducing cutting-edge technologies, and delivering impactful solutions, JA Solar is accelerating the global transition to clean energy.
With a vision rooted in sustainability and innovation, JA Solar continues to illuminate the path toward a greener, more sustainable planet for generations to come.
