The 20-year master energy supply agreement (MESA) will see MMC source power from NOA Group’s portfolio of wind and solar farms, with a combined capacity of 86 MW. The company emphasized that the electricity will come from multiple generation sites across South Africa, enhancing the reliability of renewable energy delivery.

The supply of electricity will be facilitated through Eskom’s wheeling framework, which allows for the transportation of electricity across the grid. MMC, known as the only non-Chinese producer of refined manganese metal, continues to focus on sustainable practices as part of its long-term energy strategy.
